The Ouija Board…….. Yes Yes

The Ouija Board, also known as a spirit board or talking board, is not the horrible thing it has previously been condemned to be. The name is literally Yes in French and German. Oui and Ja………..

It is usually a board that has all of the letters of the English language on it and the numbers 1 through zero. It also has yes and no on opposite sides of the surface and a goodbye on the bottom. It is basically set up to let the participants put their fingers on a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic with a window at the tip that uses a nail as a pointer) that moves around the board pointing out letters, numbers or yes/no to answer whatever specific question has been asked. There have been some forms of the basic Ouija Board throughout history but the original board game was produced with a patent date of February 10, 1891 by Elijah Bond and Charles Kennard. Parker Brothers have held all trademarks and patents since 1966.

My best friend in grade school and I used a ring on the back of the bus seat in front of us on the way to school and just asked yes and no questions.

Sometimes the entity (or one of the participants pushing the planchette) might voluntarily and/or spontaneously start writing a tome of universal truths. Or it might just be spouting garbage to try to torment the participants in the room. In any case, keep a light-hearted attitude and remember that the speaker could be from any walk of previous life or from any age group mentality. Don’t take any of the answers too seriously.

If you want to use a Ouija Board to find out paranormal things, expect to hear almost anything, if it even works at all. If done in a cavalier way, expect answers you might get if you shouted out a question in a full bar just before closing and treat the answers you get in the same way. If the answers seem reasonable and not slurry, they might be worth remembering. If they are hard to understand, don’t try. Leave the board for an hour or two and try again. If you feel you are receiving some pretty goofy answers, ask for someone else to come to the board.

With that out of the way………… the first step to having a good Ouija Session is to first ask that only those with good intent come to speak in discussion. Some say a prayer of protection.

I say to myself or out loud to remind my husband to get serious – raised eyebrow ….

Allow only those spirits whose intention is for the highest good for all be present. Let any spirits who have nothing positive to contribute be sent out into the universe where they can’t harm anyone. Surround us with the pure white light of protection.

Always remember that the caliber or credentials of the spirit that replies can not be absolute. Once you begin a session, a sort of light goes on over the proceedings that draws spirit entities to you like moths to a bug zapper. It isn’t always the strongest among them gets through, it’s usually the one with the strongest desire to be heard that will probably get through.

I would have to say that the highest teachers often sit back and protect you rather than speak through the board. Call to them to watch over you and those in the session with you.

I will admit that I’ve had good and horrible times while working with Ouija boards for more than 30 years. My Mother gave me my first board and my Grandmother fought with her about it. Mom won, but both of them were psychic. And they were both right………..

Using Ouija for fun is fine as long as you don’t let it manipulate you into believing that you’ve harnessed the philosophical master of the universe as your personal wiki to every question man can ask!

I had one Ouija partner friend who went off on her own once she realized she would “move” the plachette by herself. It slowly frightened her into staying home most of the time until I intervened to get her to either put the board away for a while or be sure to do sessions with others with her or in the room with her because it’s good to have someone who can counterbalance what is being said – either positive or negative. Whether it was an entity manipulating her or her own fears – it’s truly hard to say. My guess leans toward her own fears “speaking” to her. We all have fears.

If your intent is more serious, I suggest meditation or trying automatic writing.

Just for the record, here and now……… My mother and I had a set question and answer to prove it was her if she passed before me. Unfortunately she passed when I was 26. In all the sessions I’ve tried with any number of people, I’ve never gotten the right answer or even close to the correct answer. I’ve never told anyone the answer either. Only my Mom knew. Obviously, the spirits that communicate via a Ouija board can not read our minds like higher spirit guides or protectors.

With that said, I’ve experienced some astounding Ouija Sessions that, on one occasion, gave me some incredible predictions that did come indeed come true – mostly. There has never been a psychic or set of predictions that was 100% correct. You can never tell which parts of a set of predictions will be “IT” until it is over and done. If you are meant to know something ahead that you can change, it will probably not be apparent to anyone else.

But that is another subject, isn’t it?

Stay safe and keep a positive attitude.

Love To All,
Marlaine

Here is a great place to get perfect guided meditation and transformational cds. I’ve been listening to Kelly Howell’s BrainSync for years and, at times, listening to one of them was the only way I could relax or sleep. Here is a place to sign up to hear free samples and they are worth the trouble!

Here is one that I listen to at least once a week as I fall asleep………

I listened to this so often as I fell asleep that if I listen to the first two or three minutes now, I would probably automatically fall asleep ………. smiling! It’s perfect for those nights when I can’t relax for whatever reason. It was helpful after I lost my little bud, Phat Cat………………….sighing.

If you are looking for universal truths, meditation and inner reflection are the better choice because each of us has our own path and lessons to learn in this lifetime. One fortune cookie is not tasty to all.

Elsie Altendorf Borkow – Love, not pain….

BORKOW, Elsie S (OTTOWITZ)[ALTENDORF]; 91; ; Milwaukee J-S (WI); 2008-4-18

This is what I found out about the status of a wonderful person in an online search. As many people find, when time moves and life take you places beyond your starting point, we leave many people behind. Eventually we no longer know how to find them or even where to start. If it wasn’t for the internet, I would never have found out what happened to my beloved Elsie.

She passed on April 18, 2008. At the age of 91.

She had a female James Earl Jones kind of voice – deep and raspy. Her hair was Moses white and full. Eyes full of the knowledge and wisdom of the universe. She was very tall – I can’t swear to it but I suspect about 6 foot 2 – maybe. Maybe it was her powerful, spiritual stature that actually made her seem like a giantess!

A post on the English Springer Rescue America, Inc. (ESRA) says this about her:

Elsie S Borkow passed in April, 2008, and she loved all animals, but especially her Springer, CJ.

Angela Czarapata let us know that her family decided to donate her memorial fund money to ESRA to help other Springers to find happiness and homes. Love, not pain. Our thanks to you all!

Love, not pain. That so sounds like Elsie!

She was and still is a warm, loving spirit – sending love to all. She was a minister of the Spiritualist Church and presided over our family’s spiritual and emotional needs. I love her – will always love her.

I have not been able to find the great photos of her that I know I have and ……… that’s probably for a reason at this time. All things happen for a reason – even if we haven’t a clue about the whys of it.

I still have a curio cabinet of hers. I had intended to refinish it for her but strange things happened around it, and our time together. My companion at the time put a coat of finish on it when the room still had dust particles in the air. It totally ruined the finish and had to be completely redone. I was working 10 hour shifts, and longer, at a supper club and had asked him to finish it for me. Still – I was the one who promised to do it so I couldn’t blame anyone but myself. When it was ready to go back to her, neither she or I had a vehicle to transport it. The end of this story is that she and I both had to move and we lost track of each other. I regret that with all my heart and it is soooooooooo painful… on top of all the other losses I’ve gone through.

But ……….. Love, not pain. No doubt her words and in a way, her last words to me.

Love, not pain.
